Wal-Mart pissed me off

So I got paid today and was going to pre-order Fallout New Vegas. I wanted to pre-order it sooner but that wasn't really an option. So I went to Wal-Mart to pre-order and because they are having a midnight release. Wal-Mart is pretty close to my apartment, so if I pick it up at midnight (or more realistically, if I send Kathy for it) there's not need to be concerned about getting home. When I finally got a chance to talk to someone at the electronics counter, after waiting in a line of stupid people, I was told that I had to either go to the website to go to Game-Stop. WTF? WTF? WHAT THE FUCK? WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK?

SO let me get this straight, there's pre-order signs in the store. The are advertising pre-orders, but I can't pre-order in the store? That's bullshit. While they are at it, why don't they just advertise other things they don't actually sell in the store? Would do me just about as much good.

Not cool. I'm fucking pissed.

Need help deciding on a laptop

With a better soldering iron than the one I have, I might be able to fix my Dell. The power connector has gone bad. Actually the connection between it and the motherboard is what has gone bad. As I said, with a good soldering iron I should be able to fix it. According to Dell, I should be replacing the motherboard. I've looked at new and refurbished cards online and $300-450 is way too much to soak into a 3 year old laptop that has had a quite few issues since I bought it. If I can't fix it, I'm going to have to replace it.

The question then becomes what with? I at least need something that can handle Eve-Online. I haven't played Eve in too long and I miss shooting at Amarr. If it can run Eve, it can run the other games I like. I did see this Toshiba at the local Walmart. Less than $400, meets the requirements. Not sure how good of a laptop it really is though. I don't want another Dell. I will not buy another Dell product again. I'm open to suggestions here. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I don't want to buy a piece of junk either.

So can anyone recommend a good laptop with a good graphics card that's not too terribly expensive?

BTW, I love watching Amarr ships pop. For those of you who don't play Eve Online, the Amarr are kinda like Fundies in space. I've encountered many Amarr players that in the real world are total bible thumping dullards, so podding them is totally worth it.

I don't like the real world

I'd rather pretend I'm the filthy rich immortal captain of massive deadly spaceships.

I was just minding my business, mining asteroids. Asteroids are evil and must be destroyed.


Then a pirate came along. Dumb move on his part.



So I jammed him and sicked my drones on him. They blowed him up good and proper.



And finally I salvaged the remains.



I needed to unwind after mining. My agent had just the thing for me, blowing up a repair station and the pirates it serves.

I switched to my Thorax class, it's good at making things go boom.

I was able to replace my Torax class and this time able to outfit it. Here's a few combat shots.

When you have a character in EVE - Online that does a lot of mining, these come in very handy. Someday I will have one.
