Transgender beaten in a Mc Donald's while people watch and film.

No doubt you have heard of this by now. Kinda old news but I wanted to say some things about it.

A video of a vicious beating at a Baltimore County McDonald's restaurant went viral Friday, garnering hundreds of thousands of views on websites and prompting the fast-food giant to issue a statement condemning the incident.

The video shows two women — one of them a 14-year-old girl — repeatedly kicking and punching the 22-year-old victim in the head, as an employee of the Rosedale restaurant and a patron try to intervene. Others can be heard laughing, and men are seen standing idly by.

Toward the end of the video, one of the suspects lands a punishing blow to the victim's head, and she appears to have a seizure. A man's voice tells the women to run because police are coming.

The police report does not provide a motive, but quotes one of the suspects saying that the fight was "over using a bathroom."
"Definitely an hate crime"

"They said, 'That's a dude, that's a dude and she's in the female bathroom,' " said Chrissy Lee Polis, 22, who said she stopped at the Rosedale restaurant to use the restroom. "They spit in my face."

A worker at the restaurant taped Monday's attack and created a graphic video that went viral last week. After the video garnered hundreds of thousands of views on websites, McDonald's issued a statement condemning the incident, and on Saturday the worker who taped the incident was fired.
I've seen the video, it was rather horrifying. I refuse to post it here but you can find it on youtube. Not because of a transgender being beaten, but because the only person that stepped in and tried to stop it was an old woman. An old woman that got punched in the mouth. Everyone else there watched, laughed and one person, an employee of the Mc Donald's, filmed it. What kind of a depraved sicko stands by and watches another human being get beaten or worse yet, films it?

And why did she need to get beaten for using the bathroom? So what if she's a transgender. Not that it really matters, but she was post-op and the state considered her a woman. What bathroom should she have been using?

Admittedly, I'm most annoyed that most of the people present did nothing. Transgender or not, the victim was a human being, isn't that enough of a reason to come to her defence?

I've got another issue with this here. How many times does one have to get beaten, raped even, before they learn some self defence and/or start carrying a gun? I'd have to look up the gun laws in Maryland to be sure, but I think that would have ended a little differently had she been armed or at least defended herself in some way.

I feel badly for her. This kind of shit should not happen to anyone. I mean that could have just as well been me or my girlfriend. Save for that either of us could defend ourselves. Admittedly, I may have also gone completely psycho on the cameraman and the by standers as well.
